Because I'm running out of my favourite Project Life page protectors and I had pictures I wanted to print, I decided to go full scale with a 6x12":
I've yet to put the journaling in, but I'm focussing on putting labels and stickers into this one, with journaling kept to a minimum. You can get the stamps pictured from Kelly Purkey's shop here. The great thing about 6x12" photos like these are the colours. I admit, it would've been better if taken from an actual camera, rather than my iPhone, but it does the trick. Pick a picture you like for the week, blow it up and you've got all you need. Experiment with different photo sizes in your Project Life and it will give some variety to your spreads.

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 26
So I might have skipped a quarter of the year and went straight to the halfway mark... To be fair, I just haven't been blogging about them. The photos are well documented and in their rightful place, I just haven't spruced them up with journaling and embellishments. I made a note to actually do them last weekend after printing out some new pictures though, so here are the results:
The layouts are made purely from Kelly Purkey shop items found here. They're absolutely versatile and if you check out her instagram page, you'll see an abundance of ideas for her kits. There isn't much to Project Life-ing but it's always the little things that makes your layout complete. Don't be afraid to add staples, washi tape and stamps to your photos. It will give your pages some life you never thought possible!

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 13
I hope you've gotten your hands on all of Kelly Purkey's new stamps because I've got another Project Life layout made using her new April Good Morning kit:
I was up early many times this week as I was primarily on morning shifts and therefore witnessed a number of breathtaking sunrises. It so happened that KP's kit coordinated with this week so perfectly, and so most of the spread was made entirely with the kit.
Here's some close ups:

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 12 + KP REVEAL DAY
Happy KP reveal day! As promised, here's a layout I did using Kelly Purkey's new Megababes stamp that's available in her shop now!
Kelly Purkey's Megababe stamp was used to create the diamond Project Life card. I love stamp patterns because you can create any and every design you want. And the best part is: you can use any colour you want and style it however it suits. I've yet to create more spreads with it, but I'm sure I'll be back using it in no time. So if your head is currently brimming with ideas for this stamp set, make sure you get to Kelly Purkey's shop now if you don't want to miss out!
Apart from Kelly Purkey's new stamp set, I used a number of other items in this as well. Posca black and white markers are currently my best friends when it comes to lettering on glossy photos (Archival Brilliance Moonlight White ink alone does not allow super bright white stamping!). I also dug up some old gold phrase stickers from 7paper that matched perfectly with the AUTUMN lettering. Ripped gold dotted vellum, clear vinyl diamond stickers from Kmart and word phrases from Me & My Big Ideas are some other materials I used.
A little close up:
There really isn't any right or wrong way to create your spreads. Just go with the flow and don't think about it too much. After all, done is better than perfect!

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 10
Another quick week layout using stamps and the March Kelly Purkey set found here. I love that the photographs are always able to speak for themselves, but with just a little journaling and stamps, a layout is complete. This week was no different with doughnuts, paint and discovering filling my spread.
Here's a little look into some of the cards I decorate using stamps and stickers:
The main Project Life card was from Kelly Purkey's Spring Break kit. I added a stamp from her Clearly Kelly range and two little puffy stickers from Heidi Swapp. I received a new leather satchel bag this week, so in the spread it went. I wrote out my journaling with just a Sharpie pen and stamped on the stars using KP's Reading List stamp. The last photograph was just a simple piece of label stuck onto the photo with the phrase from Studio Calico.
And that's that!

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 9
It's taking me a while to get through the weeks in my 2016 Project Life but on Sunday, I decided that it was time to finally sit down and get these spreads done and out of the way.
Week 9 was contained a full 6x12" picture which I actually absolutely love. It's basically everything my life revolves around nowadays - coffee and bullet journaling. The letters were from an old Studio Calico kit with the little phrase underneath from Kelly Purkey's shop. There really isn't much to my layouts but it's always the little things that count. For example, I absolutely love the 'roadtrip' stamp from the new Spring Break kit set from Kelly Purkey (get it here!) and it matched so well for this week's adventures to the Great Ocean Rd here in Melbourne.
The pink quote by Henry Matisse was also from an old Studio Calico kit:
There really isn't much to my Project Life layouts, but like I said, it's the little things that count, and considering that I'm trying to get these weeks over with, done is definitely better than perfect!

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 8
I decided to mix things up a little for week 8 and have to say, I'm glad I did, because it turned out better than expected. I have yet to actually finish it entirely, but it's coming together quite perfectly and thought I'd document it either way. Here's a little look:
I decided to go for a full 6x12" page on the right because for one, the week was absolutely bland - nothing exciting happened and that was reflected on my pictures. So in order to cut down the amount of photos I needed to document, I thought a full page layout would do the trick - which it did!
Here's a little close up:
I ended up using Project Life cards printed from the Project Life App and papers from Maggie Holmes' shine collection. As you can see, I haven't exactly done much to it, but the gold alphas has made everything tie in perfectly. I can't wait to finish it off!

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 7
This week was full of colour, and despite the fact that I haven't exactly finished the entire layout (thus the blank vellum on the paint chip photo), I love how it's coming together.
I used the usual items for this layout, including chipboard alphas from Thickers, stamps from Kellie Stamps and Kelly Purkey and some washi tape. Sometimes, you need the pictures to speak for themselves, so don't worry if your embellishments are just a few pieces.

PROJECT LIFE 2016 WEEK 6
This week came together easier than expected - the main colours from my photos were brown, white and black, so everything just seemed to pop without having too many embellishments. I mainly used white stickers from Sn@p and alphas from Kelly Purkey. And because I wanted to the alphas to be a solid white, I coloured in the alpha outline with my Posca white marker
Here are some up close pictures:
I must admit, this little corner of the spread would have to be my favourite though: I love the contrast between the white stickers and the brown colours of the photos and how it pops:

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 4 & 5
Week 4
So the Project Life journey continues: I particularly like this week's layout due to the white spaces I've allocated in it.
I didn't use as many stamps as I did previously, and because I had a Project Life card with wording already on it, I didn't stamp any on my photos to prevent it from looking so cluttered with the many phrases.
Here are some close ups:
Overall, I love the contrasting whites and darks in the spread, with the touch of gold.
Week 5:
Week 5 took me a while to decorate, mostly because I was always out on the weekends which left little time for me to play. Either way, here's an overall look at Week 5 of my 2016 Project Life:
Here are some close-ups:
I think my fav part of this layout has to be the large gold alphas on the brown Project Life card. And I love that the gold alpha, gold striped border on the bottom right, gold heart and the gold bordered date box managed to tie the whole layout together subtly. I seem to have a touch of gold in every single layout I do but I can't seem to stop (and I regret nothing)!

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 3
I really liked this week's spread. I managed to get a number of great photos with a natural brown theme thanks to the photos of flowers, cupcakes and art materials. I decided to go a little less with stamps and embellishments and let the pictures speak for themselves. When it comes to items used, Kelly Purkey was my main partner in crime. However, as I'm lacking alphabets that are solid in colour (rather than just the outline), I decided to use my Posca white marker to fill in the alphas, which worked quite nicely, if I say so myself.
The 'I like pretty things' Project Life card was from Studio Calico, which took all my strength to prevent hogging it. I love it, to say the least. But I guess it worked beautifully in this spread showcasing all my favourite things in one.
But enough words, here are some close ups of my spread (I've included captions detailing some of the items used in the close-ups):
'FRESH' was stamped using Kelly Purkey's stamp and coloured-in with Posca |
Vellum, gold heart and labels |
'Hey Beautiful' sticker from Me & My Big Ideas |
Hope this gave you some ideas for your next Project Life spread!

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 2
I know I'm jumping around with my Project Life weeks but I've been on a creative block for week 2 for the longest time. I just didn't know how to progress with my pages until yesterday. I was trying to find the 'perfect' coordinating Project Life card to go with my pages but can't seem to hit the nail on the head with all those I've been trying. I then decided to go out of the 'theme' of the week and actually found the perfect one. This is how the week looks overall:
Here are some close up shots:
I can't seem to remember the name of the Project Life pack, but it was filled with art journal style cards which looked amazing. However, I never seemed to find a layout that fitted these cards till I decided to randomly throw them into this week's spread. I'm actually amazed at how well it suited. I especially love the torn paper effect on the bottom right of the spread which matched the colour of the book I was reading.
Apart from the Project Life cards, I used my typewriter to type out the story of the week before cutting it into strips and sticking it on the PL card. I used alpha stamps from Kelly Purkey and Ali Edwards and stickers from Sn@p. I didn't use too many embellishments in this layout but love that it managed to look complete nevertheless.

PROJECT LIFE 2016: WEEK 0 & 1
I'm still going strong over here with my Project Life spreads (although, it IS only week 1...), and that may only be because I'm still free as a bird. A different story would be told when February comes around and I start my first job as a qualified Radiographer - I'm sure I'll be drowning in projects then. But for now, here's a little look into my Project Life world:
Week 0 of my Project Life spread was actually December 29th when my baby cousin was still around exploring + shopping Melbourne with me, I didn't really do anything for New Year's day (like every other year), so this spread focused on all the pictures we took then. Here are some close ups of the spread I did:
Unfortunately, for privacy reasons, I can't really show you the full spread. I'm sure my cousin would love the publicity but I'll save it for now and go with the details.
Week 1 of my Project Life spread, however, was filled with job interviews and meets with one of my closer uni friends:
Here are some close-ups:
I primarily (99%) used stamps from Kelly Purkey because for one, I've been itching to use them since forever, and for another, I love how they can match so easily with a variety of different themes and projects. I stamped all my white phrases with Brilliance Archival Moonlight White ink, however, when it comes out to light or not at all, I go over it with my Posca white marker.
I'm probably going to add some digital stamps to my next spread knowing there'll be lots of white spaces in them, and not having any ink that will stain my pictures without wiping off. It should be fun playing with digital stamps. I'll be using my digital stamp creations that will be available in my shop to give you an idea of how they can be used. Till then, hope you enjoyed looking through my first two weeks!

PROJECT LIFE 2016
I'm all about trying new things, and since the new year has just begun, I thought I'd give Project Life a go. Instead of the usual 12 x 12" album though, I've decided to follow Kelly Purkey's footsteps and run with a 6 x 12". I knew that my local Spotlight had these 6 x 12" Thickers album in store already (as I've been eyeing them for months!), so I was pretty much set to start straight away. The best part was, they've decided to put the album on clearance, so I got it for cheaper than I expected it to be. Hurrah!
I'm still waiting on my Project Life (Design H) inserts to arrive from an online Aussie Project Life store, but I decided that since I had some left over 12 x 12" inserts already, cutting them up in half works like a breeze as well.
I'm probably regretting not starting this album last year when my life was a little bit more busy though, but I guess the empty uni load will actually help me get through one succesfully this year. I'm looking forward to finally using up my stash on this year-long project and finally using those accumulated Project Life cards! I'll post some layouts on my blog when I get the chance (amongst the many other layouts), so stay tuned!
